Due to our current economic situation, the rate of unemployment and underemployment we must fund as best we can all programs and services to assist people thru this difficult time.
After a lot of thought, consideration, and listening to the people, the only right and justified way to raise revenue for all programs and services is thru one tax increase that goes straight across the board covering all income levels. I do not support increasing any other tax.
We have a two fold problem here. One, spending has been out of control and funds such as pensions have been robbed to cover general revenue expenses. And two, due to the economy and employment situation revenue is down. Let us focus on getting people back to good paying employment with benefits so they may pay more in taxes (sales & income) and stimulate our economy.

I have actually written FOID card legislation that would cover a lot of these areas of concern. The FOID card was intended to help law enforcement to solve crimes where guns are involved, but without having to register your guns this seems to not be what it was intended to do. I believe we do have the right to bear arms with responsibility. I also believe that any gun collector would appreciate a system that works so they may collect and be protected.
